SOME OF THE THINGS WE DO
Bulbs for the Blind Every Year we take out hyacinth bulbs to the blind in our community. We send hyacinths because of their intense perfume,
which blind people can appreciate, if they can't see the flowers.
The Boundary Walk which takes place each spring takes quite a bit of organising but is well supported and a good fund raiser for local
charities.
Emergency Boxes Todmorden has probably sent out more emergency boxes than any other club in the country (35 last year) involving the local
community especially the churches and their organisations. They provide basic essentials to disaster areas throughout the world. During 2005 over 100 boxes were despatched for the tsunami earthquake victims.
Seniors Party Later on in the year we organise the Senior Citizens Tea Party at the Cricket Club with live music.
Support Local Organisations In partnership with the Savoyards we will be supporting them in their productions of “Yeoman of the
Guard”, “HMS Pinafore” and “Iolanthe” at the Hippodrome (and getting a percentage of the ticket sales for Rotary charities).
Schools Chess competition
Social events “Rotary is Fun” and there are social events during the year, some are fundraising events and some for making new
friends and having fun.
An environmental project.
Stewarding at the Agricultural Show.
We support various appeals both locally and internationally.
