What is Rotary?
Rotary is an international organisation of business and professional people who
provide a humanitarian service. There are 1.2 million Rotarians in 31,000 clubs in 144 countries.
Is it ‘men only’ ?
NO - Membership is open to both sexes
What are the commitments?
We meet once a week at the Shepherds Rest for a meal which is
followed by reports from the various committee chairmen. This is usually followed by a speaker.
We are expected to support what events we can and to join either the International of Community & Vocational
committee. Of course family and work commitments must come first.
What does it cost?
Annual subscriptions vary from club to club, at Todmorden it is £105, there
is also a one-off joining fee of £25. The meal at the Shepherds Rest costs £10.
